This DLC has a lot of issues with reloading for some weapons, namely the ones that don't reload with a detachable box or magazine.
For instance, if you shoot the M38 carbine once, and then reload, you will reload 5 bullets into the gun. No matter how many rounds are missing, you will always play an animation of loading the the gun from empty. This affects the shotguns and all other bolt action rifles as well. Additionally, ammo in clips and even individual shells/bullets are grouped into "magazines" that are swapped for the ammo remaining in the clip.
This can in the absurd situation of shooting one round while fully loaded, then reloading by stuffing 5 more bullets in your gun, only to find you've switched to a "magazine" with only one round remaining. 4 rounds + 5 rounds = 1 round?
IMO, treating the ammo in guns that are often singly reloaded like guns in removable magazines doesn't make any sense. Reloading when not empty should only add the missing rounds, and they should be added from a magazine in the player's inventory, instead of swapped wholesale via a reload animation that violates the laws of physics.
I really like the CDLC though, it's one of my favorite ways to play ArmA now 🙂
