Hey everyone,
As Maarten suggested, I've created a forum thread focused on Vietnam was based model-kits. For those who don't know: Model kits or scale models are often plastic based representations of a vehicle and require assembly, painting (and subjectively weathering) to display. In this thread I will (others are welcome too of course!) post only Vietnam based models I have/am making as a fun little thread to make things in the forums a bit more warried! Enjoy and feel free to put any comments (and of course feedback if you feel a certain model is missing something!)
For a first submission I will share my 1/35th scale M113 ACAV model manufactured by Tamiya. What started as a fun little weekend project developed into me slowly tracing more model kits from the Vietnam war and hopefully making a little display piece often called a Diorama. Enjoy!
First pic: M2 50.cal assembly with some metal-etch upgrades.
Second and third pic: M113 assembled fully, the most fun is next: painting and then heavily weathering it!
Fourth pic: M113 painted, but... sigh there is no mud and other goodies to give it character!
Fifth pic: The finished result!
Due to limitations of how many pictures I can attach, I will eventually post up more pictures of this little aluminum box in the thread comments, stay tuned!
