Spindown is a mission that confounds me for a small number of reasons.
But it's not the gameflow of said mission which is excellent to say the least.
Both the tense situation and the risk and stress of escaping from your base to an LZ
and from there evading to an alternate LZ under nearly constant is well designed.
And yet, there are some things that confound me.
First of all there are the different loadouts possible. I've seen both M14 and M40 rifles in the mission...
Another thing which is somewhat weird is the human pilots. Although possible in all missions it's sometimes
useful, and sometimes not. In Spindowns case it's somewhat useful as it allows for an extra dimension of cover fire and early
extraction (at risk) which in turn is an advantage if your team gets stretched out. And yet, in other missions (like Bright Light)
at times it feels odd. I suppose it's somewhat inherent to basic Arma, but watching a helo land when one isn't supposed to land
at times is certainly weird at times.
