Hello and congratulations on the launch of the new Vietnam dlc for Arma 3, one of the best community dlc out there and your work on it shows amazingly and the campaign is good but It hard.
I have some feedback and suggestions for your team's, this is more based of a smaller group of people playing in a more casual and relaxed way compared to more hardcore military sim players whom use ace, task force team speak, etc etc.
This is feedback for people whom plays between 2-6 players in a session not having many friend that enjoy Arma we are limited in whom we play with and playing online servers with people we dont know isn't something we are interested in.
Anyway here the feedback:
Campaign:
Be able to add AI or reduce the amount of enemies spawning.
Exemple: campaign mission 3 I believe, extracting the POW pilot.
We got completely surrounded rapidly and even killing the enemy's AI spawn would constantly spawn them, when we got the the LZ the enemy's spawn felt like double, we weren't even able to move and kept getting killed. It became more frustrating than fun, we didn't have problem at 3 people doing the other two mission. But the AI spawn at Time was large but not difficult to kill and then had a break between spawns waves.
Also the radio man class does nothing you can't call support even when the audio from the game tell you , you can call in support.
But we love the campaign and you guys did a amazing job.
Mike Force gamemode:
For this feedback we were only three of us playing for almost 16 hours during the weekend together.
With some awesome moments of holding a building at night using fire support to light up the night and napalm and all other support.
But Here are ours thoughts:
There need to be a ai squad buying options, adding AI teammate to your squad or buying squads to send to objective with you. Adding to the Large battle scale.
There need to be a redeployment options on teammates even if they are in another division but being able to add and everyone into a squad with them.
If you get killed you have to respawn all the way back at the base and if the objective you're taking is 20 min away well it a really long and boring drive/fly back there and kill the momentum of things specially if you get ambushed out of nowhere by a aa gun killing you instantly.
Then you have to go back over and over again it can be frustrating, even making possible to make a spawn point outside the zones to help faster deployment. (You can put a options to disable fast deployment/repawns on player's in the game options)
Stamina, gods I love and hate this features, when in bigger group like we were (6 players to one point) it less of a bother but in general stamina sucks and there should be a option to disable it for more causal players that just want to go in and have fun, the more realistic crowd that want it to be well realistically representative of human capabilities they can keep it on. But for casual player's it not necessary to have it constantly there being frustrating when you have to run to a car, plane, chopper and your guy already exhausted (yes because of the weight of the gear I know)
Allowing multiple choosing of a faction or just the option to be able to select them all when playing in smaller groups of people.
Again for the more casual and smaller group of people that just want to be fun and not restricted to only a few vehicle because they aren't part of the task force.
The game mode feel like a better Antistasi and liberation but it need some help making it better and since it is in beta I hope that some of my feedbacks for smaller groups of people playing the game is able to help develop the game for both casual and hardcore fans.
I understand that the dlc is mainly coop based and teamwork with other people but not everyone have 10-30 friends to play with and not everyone want to join into servers because they are very antisocial (like I am) or where they barely know anyone and can cause alot of problems or have to install a bunch of mods and teamspeak and different aspects.
Yes I understand the whole idea of the dlc but you also can't forget the people whom just want to get on have fun and get immenses in the world and the scariest past of Vietnam not knowing where your enemies are with a small group of friends that want some more action based arma instead of more realistic based slow methodical approach of it like many servers and where people can spend hours travelling from one point to another without any action because of realistic travelling.
I Dont expect you guys to implement theses idea or take them seriously as you mostly have a road map and plan for the development of the dlc.
But I wanted to give my feedback.
If it is added you have my many many thanks but if it isn't we will still play it and have fun with the game enjoying it
I do understand the difference between a more realistic play style of Arma and a more casual side of it, I played both and having less time on my hand because of work can see why the more action arcade style goes with when I have barely any spare time to play and want to maximize the time playing and shooting and less time travelling And admiring the environment hehe
